An original hand-painted portrait of a Rajasthani man in a turban with a full white beard, smoking a hookah. Made in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in the dot and line technique, on genuinely old paper, with natural pigments in tones of grey and white. Work in ink alone is harder than work in colour. There is no colour to lean on, so every line and dot shows. It takes the painter 15 to 20 days.

Each piece is hand-painted, so there will never be another exactly like it. Each carries the marks of the painter's hand.

Product Details:

  • Dimensions: Approximately 34 x 21cm, paper size (the painted area is smaller)
  • Material: Natural pigments on old paper

Please be aware, this painting is on genuinely old paper, so it may show fold lines, small marks or other signs of age. We think that is part of its story. Please zoom in on each photo to check the condition.
