ANDREA B HAND PAINTED GLASSWARE, COMPORTA

ABC Glassware is a small studio run by Andrea Baginski Champalimaud from Comporta and Lisbon, Portugal, specialising in hand-painted glassware collections with a bold botanical sensibility. Andrea has collaborated on collections with Jacques Grange in Comporta, the Ritz Carlton in Lisbon, Palácio Cadaval in Évora and Dorey Tiles in Lisbon — a roster that speaks to both the quality of her work and the company it keeps.

What makes ABC Glassware distinctive is the technique. Each design is painted in layers onto hand-blown glass, then baked at 600 degrees — a process repeated three or four times depending on the complexity of the design. This bonds the paint into the glass rather than sitting on the surface, creating a finish that is more refined, more durable, and — beautifully — visible on both sides of the glass. The result is something that functions as tableware and works as art.

The studio prioritises high-quality, ethically sourced materials wherever possible.

Care: hand wash only in warm soapy water. Not suitable for hot beverages. Machine washing will cause the paint to mattify over time.
