The glassblowing tradition of Syria is one of the oldest in the world — a craft practised in Damascus and Aleppo for thousands of years, where skilled craftsmen have been shaping molten glass by breath and hand for generations. The pieces we carry at The Voyage Dubai come from a fair-trade enterprise created to support Syrian artisans and preserve this extraordinary tradition. This project not only opened up new markets for the artisans helping them sustain themselves and their families, it also gave them a new sense of value and appreciation for the work that they do.

Each piece is individually blown, which means each one is slightly different in shape, thickness and colour. That variation is not a flaw — it is the mark of something made by hand. These are glasses and vessels that carry a story as well as their contents.
