Virginia Affleck, Pin to everyone who knows her, grew up on a family farm in Western Victoria that had been in her father's family for five generations. A lifetime of travel followed: a village in the Indian Himalayas, the bazaars of Delhi, a flat overlooking Istanbul's Topkapi Palace, grape harvests among Etruscan ruins in Tuscany. She says she leaves a little piece of her heart in every place she visits. The place that finally kept it was Tangier, where she founded Made in Tangier in 2020.

It began, as most of her ideas do, at her kitchen table. When Pin took her flat in downtown Tangier, the curtains were stitched from lengths of pure white cotton and the bedspreads and tablecloths were woven to her designs by local weavers, the same weavers who became her team. Pin pairs contemporary designs with Morocco's age-old hand-weaving traditions, every piece woven by hand in pure cotton. The work has travelled: The Met Store in New York commissioned bespoke hammam towels drawn from a fourteenth-century tile in the museum's collection.

The collection at The Voyage Dubai was designed in collaboration with Pin and hand woven entirely by hand by people Pin names and knows. Table linen made for long lunches and meant to be used.
