Laetitia Rouget grew up inside the ceramics industry — born into a family of porcelain manufacturers — before studying art at Central Saint Martins in London and moving through fashion design, print, and textiles before arriving at ceramics. That circuitous route shows in the work: these are not the pieces of someone who learned only one discipline. The colours reference the landscapes and cultures of her adopted home in Lisbon and her travels; the slogans carry a wit that feels French; the forms nod to Portugal's own deep pottery tradition.

Each piece is handcrafted in small batches by local artisans working to her designs. The combinations — bold illustration, glazed in vivid colour, with text that catches you off guard — are harder to pull off than they look. Most attempts at this register tip into novelty. Hers don't.
