The alabaster craft of Volterra, a medieval hill town in Tuscany, stretches back centuries. The Cooperativa Artieri Alabastro is the artisan cooperative that keeps this tradition alive — a group of skilled craftspeople who carve, turn and polish alabaster by hand using techniques passed down through generations.

The pieces we carry at The Voyage Dubai are made from alabaster quarried in the hills around Volterra and worked entirely by hand. There is nothing quite like them.
