Antique Japanese Imari Scalloped Plate

A lovely antique Imari scalloped plate, hand painted in blue, red, metallic orange & green.

Depicting scenes of birds, flowers & foliage on the outside part and a basket with various flower heads in the centre. The underside of the plate hasn't any makers mark but the sides have a simple blue flower & leaves design.

This plate has wonderful multiple dimples in the glaze & the raised rim is slightly uneven, this is normal for ceramics this age & are part of the making process & charm.

This antique plate approximately dates from somewhere between 1840-1910.

Display it on a wall or on a coffee table.
