Michael Chandler is a Cape Town-based artist whose Afrochines collection brings together two aesthetic worlds that have more in common than one might expect — the bold graphic energy of African visual culture and the delicate porcelain tradition of Chinese blue and white. The result is hand-painted porcelain that is joyful, distinctive and extremely striking.

Each piece is painted by hand in Michael's studio in Cape Town, which means each one is slightly different and tells its own story and point of view. Signed at the back by the artist, the wall-mounted, vase-shaped pieces come with custom fitted hooks ready for hanging.
